Teaching Information Ethics

The rising amount of data generated by digitalization as well as technological advances in data processing and analytics create tremendous opportunities to exploit data for business and research purposes. A recent example is the development of Artificial Intelligence based writing tools. In order to properly cover the ethical challenges of these developments, Information Ethics is increasingly added into curricula in higher education. This paper describes the development of an Open Educational Resource for Information Ethics within the project OpERIE (Open Educational Resources für Informationsethik) and focuses on the content framework and first evaluation results.
